Los Fuegos

It’s now Day 2 here in Miami and the weather has not held back yet as it continues to pour heavily at various parts of the day. The sun has not shown itself yet for the best part of 2 days either as the clouds continue to occupy the sky.

I never expected Miami to have weather like this as I recall when I was here during the middle of February where it was snowing back in NY but was sunny as high as the 80’s here. With this being said, we are still in Miami and there is a lot to be thankful for like the dining scene here.

Tonight’s agenda is quite exciting as we are headed to dine at Los Fuegos by Chef Francis Mallman located inside the Faena hotel. The Faena hotel located at 3201 Collins Avenue is one of the most lavish and chic places to dine out here in Miami. The hotel is nicely decorated and always constantly full of patrons visiting from all over the world. Los fuegos being one of their flagship restaurants along with Pao where I was fortunate to have dined before offers exotic flavors from Argentina right here in Miami.

We started our evening with a cocktail at the bar and spent about half an hour enjoying our time at the cocktail lounge. We were then informed that our table was ready and were ushered to the dining room in the patio that was fully covered for rainy days like today. The wine list was quite exceptional, and it was difficult to make a decision but we eventually opted for an Argentinian blend of course ☺

We started our meal with cauliflower paella and this was equally delicious as it was creative. The rice was nice and crispy while the cauliflower was tender.

The roasted sweet potato is a must here as well as the sesame yogurt balanced the sweetness of the dish.

The smoked gouda empanadas were nice as well, light and smoky went well with the wine.

The lamb chops were our entrée and they were grilled beautifully and the roasted eggplant and mint jelly accompanied the dish elegantly.

We ended our meal with the Pionono with the dulce de leche ice cream and it was a nice touch on the classic dessert.

Los Fuegos gracias por esta noche y la comida rica.

We shall return soon for more!
