Hattie B’s Hot Chicken

Now on my 3rd day here in Atlanta and after 2 days of awesomeness I am ready to start my mid-week tour of this amazing city.

After visiting the site of Dr. Martin Luther King yesterday I wanted to start my day with some matcha at Café Momo located at 231 W Peachtree St for some breakfast. I ordered the matcha latte and egg tart to start my day and plan my activities. The café was really cool and had a nice simple concept. The matcha was good and the egg tart was nice and crisp, perfect way to start my day.

I ventured out next for a walk at Freedom Park located at Moreland Avenue where I went for a nice walk under the sun. After a mile or so I ended up at the adjacent Camden Park which had nice sights as well. After a few miles of walking and talking to strangers passing by asking for tips on where else to go I was starting to get hungry. Before I go for my next meal I had a mission to find the “Homage to the King” statue which was located at the Carter Center.

This sculpture was given by Barcelona artist Xavier Medina Campeny as a gift of the Spanish host city of the 1992 summer Olympics to the 1996 host of the summer Olympics, Atlanta. The sculpture was a nice gesture from the Spanish to solidify the friendship among both countries. It also gave a nice vibe as Dr. King was waving and gave a sense of peace and non-violence.

Now it was time for the 2nd round of Atlanta Fried Chicken and this afternoon it led me to Hattie B’s, located at 299 Moreland Ave. The place was already almost packed, and it was not even 12 yet which is a good sign.

I ordered a 2 piece large leg quarter for my meal along with beans and coleslaw and banana pudding for my dessert. The chicken was phenomenal and everything else that came with it like the bread pudding. Crispy and juicy just like how I like my chicken fry…

Atlanta I may consider moving here for this… ☺
