Bacchanalia

As my 2nd day here in Atlanta is now coming to an end a full proper meal is in order and Bacchanalia located at 1460 Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard is my next destination.

This has been on my top list of places to visit, and I was so happy to be able to get a reservation for tonight. A 4-course chef’s tasting menu is the only available option this was my kind of place. As I arrived at the restaurant, I was greeted warmly by the staff who already knew who I was and ushered me to my table.

As I was being seated, I couldn’t help but marvel at how nice the restaurant is, and the ambiance was perfect for an evening meal. The table seating was perfectly set and everything was in complete order which usually means that the staff is on top of every detail. My server was attentive and explained the whole meal to me in full detail. Alas the amuse bouche arrived with a few other compliments from the chef to start the meal.

My first appetizer was veal sweetbread with cherries and saffron gastrique which was exceptional. The sweetbreads were nice and crisp and the gastrique was not overpowering.

My next course was seared foie gras with apples and toasted honey which was delicious. Me being a fan of foie gras really enjoyed their take on this classic dish.

My entrée was the pasteurized raised lamb with broccolini and mint peppercorn jelly that really knocked the ball out of the park like the Atlanta Braves. There was a nice balance of flavors here and execution was perfect.

A selection of five cheeses followed with some fresh apples and honey with pistachio.

Lastly the pecan pie with bourbon meringue was served for dessert and this was such a unique take on this dish…

Bacchanalia thank you for an amazing meal and I am now a fan…
