Anthony's HomePort Edmonds

The Pacific Northwest is really starting to grow on me, the weather and sunlight are such a perfect combination. Summers here are kinda breezy making outdoor activities so much more fun. The people are a bit like Californians I guess in their choice of lifestyle and activities which makes me think of the Bay Area a bit more often while I’m here.

The marina and boardwalk here at downtown Edmonds are both super cool and they have a few popular restaurants as well. Anthony’s restaurant located at 456 Admiral Way in Edmonds is one of the top eating destinations here in the neighborhood.

My cousin and I spent the morning preparing for his birthday tomorrow so we can have a good meal for lunch today. Our drive to Anthony’s was nice and chill that we were able to see what the people are planning for this long weekend. When we pulled up at the parking lot the space was already almost full. All outdoor tables were already taken in 30 minutes of opening and there was a short wait to get seated.

As we got ushered to our table, I could already smell the aroma of the seafood coming from the kitchen. The house focaccia bread that they serve as a starter was so good, the bread was so light and buttery.

I started with a cup of their famous Anthony’s award-winning clam chowder which I have to say is a must try. The chowder was packed with ingredients and flavor. At this point the entire dining room was already almost full signifying how big of a destination Anthony’s is to the local community.

Pan fried oysters from Willapa Bay was served next and came with a side of cocktail sauce and tar tar sauce. The oysters tasted really fresh and succulent, and the breading was not too heavy.

For my entrée I opted to try the fresh Columbia River steelhead which was pan seared and served with a side of sailor’s potatoes and green beans. The steelhead was perfectly cooked with the center staying moist and the flesh still flaky.

Lastly for our dessert we tried the northwest peach slump which was with hand-picked Washington peaches baked under a tender biscuit crust and topped with vanilla ice cream.

This was a true Pacific Northwestern meal and the ingredients really stood out…
