Mister Oso

This is officially my first full day out here in Denver and after 2 interesting meals yesterday and having a full nights rest I’m ready for an early start to enjoy my day. Some sightseeing was the first agenda for today and I made my way out early to Red Rocks Amphitheatre to marvel at its amazing landscape.

This magnificent natural creation was a sight to behold. The 30-minute drive was worth it and is a must to visit for any tourists. As I made my way back to downtown Denver, I was still breathless on how beautiful the red rocks where.

My first stop back in the city was a trip to Union Square station in the heart of Denver. This had such magnificent architecture and would rival any rail station out in Europe. After a brief stroll I made my way to Larimer Square to check out the famed restaurant row which was so elegant. I made my way further south to civic center park to look at the city capitol. Last on my morning tour was a stop at the famed Great Divide Brewing Company. One of Denver’s oldest breweries and most awarded as well.

After all the morning excursions I was ready to start our meal for the day and Latin cuisine is on the menu for lunch as I head out to Mister Oso in the RiNo district. Located at 3163 Larimer Street and under the helm of Chef Blake Edmunds and Culinary Creative Group this place has been serving latin cuisine with a focus on smoked meats since 2019.

I arrived at the restaurant around 2pm and upon entering the place was surprised of how bright and lively the atmosphere was inside the dining room. The staff were so nice and friendly and offered me an insight to the menu and the specials.

I opted for a bit more classical approach in my menu selection and started with the Queso Fundido with peanut salsa macha, pico verde and tortilla chips. The flavors were bright and balanced and the peanut salsa macha was a welcome addition to the Fundido.

The birria taco was what I ordered for my main course and the short rib with melted cheese and salsa roja was excellent.

I ended my meal with the “Pro Move” which was churro with a soft serve smore that was decadent and delicious.

Thank you, Mister Oso, for the warm hospitality
