Salvaje

I haven’t been back in Miami for about almost 4 months now and I’m so eager to see what new restaurants have opened since. Having been able to travel to other places have made me realize how much I’ve missed Miami.

First things first though, a trip to the ocean is much needed and the water was calm today. After a long flight that has been delayed for over an hour in departing La Guardia it was so nice to be back swimming in the clear oceans of Miami. The sun, sand and water of Miami was such a welcome sight to take after such a long time.

After a few swimming in the ocean and hanging out by the beach I went back to my room and started to freshen up. Now filled with hunger I was ready for my first meal out in Miami. First time I heard about Salvaje was during my last trip and was highly recommended by a friend. Located at the rooftop of Hyde Midtown Miami this place has been one of the most trending spots of the past year. I was so excited on the uber ride to the hotel that I was checking the menu and plotting my meal already.

When I arrived at the restaurant, I was impressed by the detail that was put into the design. The layout was so nice, and the decorations were fitting of the rooftop Miami scene.

I started with the VIKINGO cocktail which had a perfect name to match the vessel the cocktail is served.

Our first course was the truffle mushroom dumpling which was so good. The service has been outstanding so far as well paired with the epic skyline views of midtown Miami the evening was set to be an excellent night out.

Our second course was the hot stone tako tiradito and this was good as well as the octopus was sliced as thin as possible.

Next to arrive was the grilled avocado with the truffle ponzu sauce which was my favorite for the evening.

The wagyu fried rice and smoked short rib were our entrée portions and both were equally tasty and perfect in their own way. The wagyu fried rice had the right amount of fat and crispiness to it and the smoked short rib was so tender and rich that we ate both dishes quickly.

At this point we are so full already but could not leave the place without trying out at least one dessert. Our server suggested the matcha lava cake which was served in a bed of dry ice. The cake was probably the best dessert I’ve had all year.

Thank you to Salvaje for an amazing meal.
