Ramen Ishida

NYC

Ramen being one of my favorite dishes in the world and 1 of my favorite things to do during fall and winter is to eat ramen ☺  So happy when the weather turns colder as I get to go out and eat more warm bowls of ramen more often.

What better way to showcase NYC’s versatile ramen restaurants than to start with our very own neighbor Ramen Ishida located at 122 Ludlow Street on the lower east side.

Chef Ishida’s take on ramen is quite interesting as he expertly blends old world Tokyo to modern NYC. His ramen broth has various unique flavors that run deep and make you want to come back for more. The thin round noodles are also his trademark that goes to every bowl of his famous ramen.

I always start my meal with the crab cream croquette when I come here as it reminds me of Japan a lot. The coating is nice and crispy while the croquette is rich and creamy on the inside.

The shoyu ramen is what I opted to try today, and it never disappoints. The broth was nice and balanced while the chicken breast and chashu pork added more depth to the dish. The truffle also gives it a distinct flavor that only this ramen dish can bring.

I always have a matcha brownie as well before I leave for dessert just to make sure that I try one before it sells out again…
